Although I did attends Jon's lesson on retouching he went over basic retouching. This is a video that i found on YouTube in second year which I have found very helpful. The techniques in this video can be used to an extreme giving a very over done finish or you can use them minimally to leave texture underneath the skin.
Below are the main notes which I have taken and added in small detail for me to understand when referring back to them.
