How it went - Athena shoot

On the day of the shoot I was feeling a bit anxious about how it was going to go as I wasn't completely confident with the makeup design. I had my model arranged and I messaged her in the morning to ensure that she was going to arrive on time, she didn't reply for a few hours, this left me feeling very anxious as I really needed the model to show up for the shoot. Luckily the model arrived on time and everything was running on time.

These are the final images from the Athena shoot. I am happy with the final outcome, I feel that the photography works really well with the hair design as it outlines the shape of the hair really well. Peter was the photographer for this shoot, I really enjoy working with him as he pays a lot of attention to detail. He also ensured that the placement of the lighting was perfect saving a lot of time in post production. He also helps a lot with direction of the model and has a lot of awareness about body posture and what works with fashion photography.

I feel as if the makeup could have been stronger for this shoot, the skin doesn't look as flawless as I would like. From this shoot I have learnt that I should be much more prepared for the makeup aspects of my shoots as it is still important as it could have a strong effect of the over all look of the shoot.

I can see form these images that the inner corners of the wig by the chin are not completely symmetrical. However speaking with Chris the photography teacher he said that it would be easy to edit that in Photoshop but he doesn't think that it needs changing. From this shoot I have learnt that I will need to pay more attention to detail when creating makeup designs for shoots. In the future I will ensure that I have properly prepared myself for the makeup as well as the hair as this will have an effect on the final images.
