Aphrodite - reshoot inspiration

Aphrodite was the goddess of love, desire and beauty; she arose from the sea on a giant scallop and was considered the most beautiful by French prince Trojan. Aphrodite symbolised feminine beauty.

Cinemagraph

Lighting

I want to create this type of lighting for the shoot as it will give a beautiful effect and will be most flattering for the hair and makeup.

Pose

The model will need to be front facing the camera and her hair will be flowing down one side of the body coming down the front. I want the pose to be powerful and beautiful at the same time to resemble Aphrodite's beauty and soft nature.

Makeup

For the makeup I want to use soft blended colours on the face to show femininity.

For this makeup design I have chosen to use yellow as it represents openness, happiness and innocence, yellow is a powerful life energy colour. The yellow eye shadow will blend into a shade of orange, as it is a warm and inviting colour. I chose to combine these colours to show aspects of Aphrodite’s character as yellow is elegant and orange can be romantic.

Hair

I want to create this mermaid braid for Aphrodite's hair style as it simple, beautiful and elegant. I also think that this is a great style to use for Aphrodite as it is soft and the name of the style 'mermaid braid' can resemble the tale of Aphrodite arising from the sea.

My design ideas

different shades of yellow will be used softly around the eyes to represent openness, happiness, innocence as well as powerful life energy merging into orange as it is a warm and inviting colour. These colours will be used softly on the eyes with natural dewy and highlighted skin. The model should be youthful to show beauty and desire. 

Hair – I want to create roses made from hair within the hair style to show the soft and beautiful side of Aphrodite’s character. A brown wig will be used so that it does not over take from simply beautiful design of the hair.
