Athena - inspiration

Athena is the goddess of many things - wisdom, courage, inspiration, civilization, law and justice, strength, the arts, crafts and skill. She was the daughter of Zeus alone, and no mother bore her.  Athena was a fierce and ruthless warrior however she was praised for her compassion and generosity.

Lighting

For this shoot I want clean beauty portrait lighting suiting to the hair and makeup design. As we will be shooting in the cove the the background will be clear and bright with the main focus on the model.

For this makeup design I have chosen to use blue, green and orange throughout. Blue is a symbolism of loyalty and dependability, it is also associated with sensual an intellect.  I chose to combine the eye shadow with green to show openness and interaction. Green can also be a split personally colour, this can be shown through Athena having a loving personality however she cursed Medusa - showing her evil side. Green is associated with illness or evil, looking at green gives does not always give this feeling straight away. Orange is a colour that is sweet as well as sour.  It is warm and welcoming colour that I have chosen to use because I think it suggests the main aspects of Athena’s character showing juxtaposition. The colours will be placed boldly on the face to show Athena's arts & crafts as well as courage of using colour.(Patti

Hair 

This style was created by a Wella professionals colour club artist. I think this could be interesting to use for Athena as it shows two different textures for the style. Although I would like the bottom section of the hair to have a lot more volume and texture. 

This hair style was created by Charlie Le Mindu, I love the texture of the hair framing around the face. I could create this using the frizzing technique.

Before creating the makeup design i wanted to play around with colour for the makeup design. Below are some images of practice on myself of different design ideas - inspiration from Pinterest.

My design ideas

This hair design will include flat hair from the top and then big fluffy texture at the bottom. I want to create a bohemian braid in the front of the hair as the braid shows reference to warriors. 

This image below was found on WGSN for a recent trend. I want to use colour for this design because i think that it is current and it will make the over all look a lot more pleasing on the eye.
