Creating Aphrodite's hair style

For Aphrodite I will be using two brown wigs to create this look, one bark brown and one light brown. The wigs are both synthetic hair, I will take one wig apart and sew it into the other creating an even and highlighted effect throughout the hair. Below are some images of my first attempt of creating a mermaid braid in the hair.

First attempt

Unfortunately I had to clip the second wig into the back of the head so there was a bulky section at the back, this meant that the hair did not all flow well together. For the shoot I will sew the wefts of the lighter brown wig into the base so that the hair all flows better together.

These images of this wig are of the wig unset, the wigs are still straight as they were when i brought them. From creating this style I have learnt that it will be important to set the wig in rollers so that the hair will have some texture to it and will sit better in the style.

I also had to re steam the base wig straight as it was previously used for a curly style. Once the wig is dry I will sew the wefts onto strings of elastic to have a stronger base to sew into the base wig. I will use braiding hair to bulk up the hair to ensure that the hair is full and all flowing well together.
